Michelson Center for Public Policy Commends Governor Gavin Newsom’s Second Term

Los Angeles, California – January 6, 2023 - Dr. Gary Michelson, founder and co-chair of the Michelson Center of Public Policy and Michelson Philanthropies issued the following statement in response to Governor Gavin Newsom’s inauguration into his second term.

Dr. Gary Michelson is a board-certified orthopedic spinal surgeon and a diplomate of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, as well as an inventor, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and humane advocate. He is a world-renowned surgical innovator and the most prolific inventor in medical history, with nearly 1,000 patents worldwide. After retiring from private practice, Dr. Michelson’s passion pivoted to philanthropy, advancing his philosophy that sharing knowledge and supporting the research of others can change the world. Throughout his life, Dr. Michelson has been a vigorous advocate for scientific research, inclusive and equitable access to education, and a champion for the responsible and compassionate treatment of animals. He established the Michelson Center for Public Policy to work alongside local, state, and national government leaders to reform and develop public policy to protect and improve the interests of the historically underserved and disadvantaged.
